Rastrick Hall and Grange

Rastrick Hall and Grange, in Calderdale, is a residential care home providing support for up to 79 older people and people living with dementia, with 55 people using the service at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to safe care and treatment and to good governance. Risks to people's health and welfare were not always managed consistently, and quality checks in place were not fully effective at catching problems.

Feedback from people and relatives was mixed, with some concerns raised about cleanliness, environmental safety and how consistently staff responded to people's needs. Engagement with families varied too, though work was underway to involve them more in care planning. Feedback about joint working with outside professionals was positive.
