Fernside Hall Care Home

Fernside Hall Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 24 people, some living with dementia, with 15 people living there at the time of inspection. The CQC found the service had made significant improvements since previously being in special measures, and is no longer in breach of regulations relating to safeguarding, safe care, person-centred care and governance.

Inspectors found good systems for managing risk, medicines and staffing, with improved morale following consistent leadership. Some work was still needed on environmental safety and ensuring people were fully involved in developing their care plans. People and relatives spoke positively about feeling safe and cared for, though some wanted more outside activities.
