Rusthall Respite

Rusthall Respite provides short breaks for up to five people at a time living with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and sensory impairments. The service supports 34 people throughout the year who book respite stays. Staff encourage people to learn new skills and pursue meaningful activities that excite them, with sufficient staffing levels to provide flexible, personalised support. People experience choice and control over their lives, and staff understand and respect individual communication methods.

During stays, the service supports people to maintain good physical and mental health. Staff work to ensure people are matched with suitable staff members and are supported in the least restrictive way possible, prioritising their best interests. The service has policies and systems in place that enable people to have maximum choice and control of their lives.
