However, a targeted assessment prompted by concerns found breaches of regulation, as inspectors found people were not always supported in line with their needs, risks were not always effectively managed, and staffing levels were sometimes insufficient to meet needs promptly. People reported slow responses to call bells and inconsistent bathing choices, and some felt staff were not always respectful or easy to communicate with due to language barriers, though most felt safe and received good medical attention.

Date of assessment 28 February to 6 March 2024. Reinbek is a residential care home providing personal care to 36 older people with a variety of conditions at the time of the inspection. The home can support up to 46 people. Care is provided over two floors and each of the four units had a separate kitchenette, lounge and dining area. This assessment was triggered by concerns we received about the service. We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control, and Equity in experiences and outcomes. At this assessment we found breaches of regulation as the provider needs to make improvements to ensure that people are supported in line with their assessed needs and preferences, people’s risk are effectively managed, and staffing levels are adequate to meet people’s needs in a timely way .
