Richard House Care Home

Richard House provides personal care to up to 33 people aged over 65 in a single adapted building. At inspection, 19 people were using the service. The home supports people to have maximum choice and control of their lives, with staff supporting them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. People's nutrition and hydration needs are met.

However, inspectors identified significant concerns. Medicines were not always managed safely, placing people at risk of harm. Safe recruitment procedures had not always been followed to check staff were safe to work with vulnerable people, and environmental safety checks had not been carried out consistently. The provider had not ensured sufficient oversight of auditing and the delivery of safe care, with audits failing to identify the concerns found during inspection. Multiple and repeated breaches of regulations were identified. The deputy manager was responsive when findings were fed back during the inspection.
