Regency Care Home

Regency Care Home, in Derby, provides personal care and support to younger and older adults living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disability or sensory impairment. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, an improvement on its previous Inadequate rating, meaning it is no longer in Special Measures. Inspectors found breaches relating to infection control, fire safety, premises adaptation for people with dementia, staffing levels and training, and weak governance systems that failed to identify these issues.

People and relatives spoke warmly of kind, patient staff who respected choice and independence, and care was described as person-centred with good involvement of families. However, laundry problems, cleanliness concerns and a tired environment were raised, alongside isolated lapses in dignity and responsiveness. Dental care access also needed improvement.
