Queen Elizabeth Care Centre provides accommodation and nursing care for up to 74 older people, including those living with dementia and physical or mental health conditions. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following concerns about moving and positioning practices and staff morale. Inspectors found breaches relating to safe care and treatment and governance, with inconsistent care records, poor cleanliness in places, and unsupported staff.

People and relatives described staff as kind, patient and respectful, with particularly compassionate end of life care. However, inspectors found interactions were often task focused, activities limited, and call bells sometimes delayed. Leaders had not identified or addressed these inconsistencies, though medicines management and recruitment were found to be safe and robust.
