Merlewood

Merlewood provides personal and nursing care for up to 53 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 37 residents were living at the home.

Staff receive training in infection control and hand hygiene using innovative methods. The home has installed a 'glow box' to reinforce proper hand hygiene practice. Staff apply gel to their hands, wash them, and then place their hands under the box, which illuminates any areas where the gel remains, providing immediate visual feedback on the effectiveness of their washing technique.
