Prinsted Care Home

Prinsted Care Home provides residential and nursing care to older people and people living with dementia, supporting 38 people at the time of the assessment. The CQC found breaches relating to safe care and treatment and to governance, prompting a request for an action plan. Choking risks were not consistently managed, staff deployment left some people waiting too long, particularly at mealtimes, and oversight systems had not picked up these shortfalls.

Inspectors found people and relatives spoke warmly of staff, describing them as attentive and knowledgeable about individual needs. Medicines were managed safely and staff were well trained. However, some people felt unable to go out into the community when they wished, as staff were too stretched to support this.
