Emsworth House Care Home with Nursing

Emsworth House provides accommodation and nursing care for up to 79 people across two separate units: a residential unit offering personal care and a nursing unit providing nursing care. At inspection, 66 people were living at the home, which features single rooms and communal areas for socialising. However, inspectors found significant concerns. Staffing levels were insufficient to safely support people throughout the day and meet their needs consistently. Risk assessments were not always effective, and medicines were not managed safely. Quality assurance systems had failed to identify these issues or drive improvements. The registered manager responded promptly when made aware of problems and outlined plans for further improvement. The home did maintain effective safeguarding procedures to protect people from abuse, and recruitment practices were safe.
