Peterlee Care Home

Peterlee Care Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 44 people. At inspection, 42 people were using the service. People and their relatives were very positive about the care provided, telling inspectors they felt safe and that staff had the skills to support them. Relatives gave positive examples of how staff had helped improve people's lives since moving to the home.

Staff were safely recruited and received induction followed by ongoing training. Training was monitored and staff were supported through regular meetings and supervisions. Staffing levels were appropriate and met people's needs. People and relatives were involved in every stage of care planning, with personalised care plans being delivered in a person-centred way. The manager had an effective quality assurance system including regular audits and checks to identify areas for improvement.
