About Pelham House Residential Care Home with Dementia
Pelham House Residential Care Home with Dementia brings a sense of home to the heart of West Sussex, offering residential care in a setting that aims to feel familiar and comfortable for residents and their families. The team here works to support people through the unique challenges that come with later life, with a particular focus on those living with dementia. For families beginning the search for the right care home, Pelham House represents a local option worth exploring as you weigh up the choices available.
Pelham House provides accommodation and personal care for up to 30 people, including those with dementia and diabetes. At the time of inspection, 27 people were using the service.
However, inspectors found significant concerns with medicines management. The clinical room and cupboards where medicines were stored were left unlocked and unattended, creating a risk that people could consume medicines not prescribed to them. While some risk assessments were in place, they were not always thorough or detailed enough to properly guide staff in supporting people safely.
