Pear Tree Court

Pear Tree Court is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to 46 people. The purpose-built service is arranged over three units on different floors: Gale unit for residential care, Napier unit for people living with dementia, and Murray unit for nursing care. Each floor has lounges, dining rooms and a TV lounge, with additional facilities including a café, hair salon and cinema.

Inspectors found that risks to people were not always assessed or managed safely, and risk management records lacked consistency and accuracy. The management of medicines also required improvement, particularly around controlled drugs, medicine storage, topical medicines and decision making, though no harm to people was found. The provider was taking action to strengthen these areas. While staff, relatives and people gave mixed feedback about staffing levels, the provider's dependency tool showed enough staff were available to meet people's assessed needs.
