Oat Hill Mews

Oat Hill Mews, in Leicestershire, provides nursing and personal care for up to 76 younger and older adults, including people living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found staffing levels were sufficient and recruitment was safe, but identified weaknesses in infection control, medicines management and mental capacity assessments, with the provider found to be in breach of regulations on good governance.

Most people and relatives spoke positively, describing staff as caring, friendly and respectful, and praising the food and welcoming atmosphere. A smaller number raised concerns about slow responses to complaints, inconsistent staff training and limited visibility of the manager. The CQC has asked the provider for an action plan to address the shortfalls found.
