Oak Cottage

Oak Cottage is a residential care home supporting autistic people, people with a learning disability and people with a mental health condition. The CQC found the service had improved significantly since previous concerns about safety and governance, and was no longer in breach of regulations, though some issues around environmental safety and infection control remained and were being addressed.

Inspectors found staff were kind, respectful and knowledgeable, with enough skilled people to meet needs safely. People and families felt listened to and involved in care decisions, with visible, approachable leadership. A small number of relatives felt some emotional and developmental needs were not always fully met, but overall feedback was strongly positive.
