Laburnum Cottage

Laburnum Cottage is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care to seven people with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. The home is located on the New Hall campus in Fazakerley, within walking distance of local shops and public transport. People have choice and control over how they spend their time, whether in their own flats or communal areas, and staff support them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.

Staff know how to protect people from harm and support them to take prescribed medicines and access healthcare services when needed. Recruitment of staff is safe and robust. However, some individual risk assessments were not always reflective of the support people were receiving and did not always include additional measures to keep people safe, potentially putting people at risk of harm. Some audits and checks were not always robust enough to identify when improvements were needed to records.
