About Montrose Hall

Montrose Hall is a residential care home in Wigan, providing accommodation and support for older people, including those living with dementia. The findings below set out what CQC observed during its most recent inspection.

Montrose Hall is a purpose-built home accommodating up to 41 people, including those living with dementia, across two floors with lift access. Each floor features a main lounge with dining area and a smaller lounge. At inspection, the home was at full capacity with 41 residents.

Staff demonstrated strong safeguarding practices, protecting people from abuse and showing clear understanding of how to recognise and report safety concerns. People's needs were assessed before admission, with residents and relatives actively involved in developing care plans and identifying support needs in partnership with staff. Medicine management was safe, and infection control procedures were well-established and effectively managed.
