Mather Fold House

Mather Fold House provides residential accommodation for up to six people with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. The service consists of one house for four people and two single person units. At inspection, all six beds were occupied.

The home demonstrates person-centred approaches to supporting residents. Staff have developed easy read social stories to help people understand COVID-19 testing and PPE use, with individual risk assessments identifying how to support those who find testing difficult. Where residents have declined tests, the home arranges small staff groups to minimise contacts. For residents distressed by masked staff, the home has developed risk mitigation plans including enhanced social distancing and hand hygiene. The service provides a varied activities programme including exercise sessions, movie nights and takeaway events to support residents who typically spend considerable time out of the home.
