Maples Care Home

Maples Care Home is a three-storey facility providing residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 75 older people, with 61 residents at the time of inspection. The home had significant concerns across several areas. Risk assessments were not always completed or updated, and management plans were not consistently in place to keep people safe. Records were not maintained properly according to individual needs, and medicines were not always managed safely. Staff numbers were insufficient to meet residents' needs, and the home did not analyse accidents and incidents to learn from them or share findings with staff. People were not always supported adequately to eat and drink, and staff training was not current, notably lacking epilepsy training. Supervisions and appraisals of staff were not carried out in line with the provider's policies.
