Long Close Retirement Home

Long Close Retirement Home provides care and support to up to 16 older people, some living with dementia. At inspection, 11 people were living at the home. Residents and their relatives described it as a happy place where care is provided to a high standard, with staff viewing their work as "just being with family." People felt safe at the home.

Staff have clear information about identified risks and safe ways of working. Recruitment procedures are in place with necessary checks completed to ensure staff suitability. People receive their medicines as prescribed. When utility checks were found not to have been carried out as planned, the provider and registered manager took immediate action to arrange them, with assurances provided that the environment is safe.
