London Road Specialist Nursing Home

London Road Neurological & Specialist Care Unit provides personal and nursing care for up to 33 people with genetic or acquired brain injuries, degenerative conditions, and stroke or cardiac conditions requiring palliative and long-term care. At inspection, 20 people were in residence. Family members spoke positively about the care and support provided, with staff keeping them informed of changes in their relative's health and well-being. One family member said, "I've always been a co-ordinator in my mum's care, and the staff really respect my role by working in partnership with me."

Staff maintain clear records about their roles in promoting health, safety and welfare, with potential risks regularly assessed and reviewed. Medication is managed according to personalised protocols and guidance. Staff undertake training in topics that promote people's health, welfare and safety. The service implements infection prevention and control measures, with PPE use and routine COVID testing for both people and staff.
