Oakland Grange is a residential care home providing accommodation and care for up to 42 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 33 people were living at the home. The registered manager had implemented several measures to maintain safety and hygiene standards. An infection prevention and control lead was appointed to support safe systems and provide staff with clear guidance. The manager had purchased sanitisation equipment and established detailed cleaning routines throughout the home.

Visiting arrangements were carefully managed through appointment-only access, with designated areas in the garden and lounge available for visitors. A separate entrance was provided and visitors received clear information before their visits. The manager had also prepared additional equipment to minimise cross-contamination risks and compiled an essential guidance folder for staff to reference during their work.
