Woodlands House

This 14-person care home provides specialist dementia care for older people and those living with dementia. At inspection, 11 people were resident. Staff were observed to have developed friendly, supportive relationships with residents, and people reported feeling safe and well cared for. One resident said, "I'm having a good day, I'm alright," while a relative commented, "My [relative] has been at the home for a long time, he seems very happy, and I have no concerns about the care he receives." Medicines were administered safely.

However, improvements were required in several areas. The home's layout and accessible information provision did not adequately meet residents' needs, and the mealtime experience required enhancement. The provider's quality assurance systems had not prevented or addressed these issues. A recommendation was made to better support people with dementia to eat and drink well.
