Lark View Care Home, in Kent, provides personal and nursing care to older people, some of whom are living with dementia. The CQC rated the newly registered home Requires Improvement overall, identifying three breaches covering safe care, staff recruitment and governance. Medicines were not managed effectively, with some people missing doses, risk assessments lacked detail, and recruitment checks such as references had not always been completed.

Inspectors found staff felt supported and received good training, and people were referred to health professionals appropriately. However, reliance on agency staff meant people did not always receive consistent, unrushed support, and information such as menus was not always accessible. People and relatives knew the registered manager and felt able to raise concerns, and the home was working to address the shortfalls identified.
