Imperial Lodge

This care home supports up to 10 people with mental health needs and those with experience of substance misuse, aiming to help with recovery and transition to less intensive care. At the time of inspection, 8 people were using the service.

However, significant concerns were identified regarding staffing and staff development. The provider had not consistently conducted appropriate recruitment checks, such as obtaining references from previous employers. New staff did not receive formal inductions, and there was no evidence that agency staff, who comprised most of the workforce, received any induction or service-specific training. Regular supervision for staff was not in place. Additionally, staff had completed only online training and lacked specific training in techniques to support people managing emotions and anxiety effectively. The service did not have enough suitably competent and qualified staff to meet people's needs.
