Hunters Lodge

Hunter's Lodge is a residential care home providing care and accommodation to up to 12 people living with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorder, and also supports people in their own homes. At inspection, 12 people were living in the home and one person was receiving support in their own home.

The service demonstrated strong infection prevention and control practices. Staff wore personal protective equipment and regularly washed and sanitised hands, with PPE stations available throughout. The environment was clean and hygienic, with staff following cleaning schedules that included regular sanitising of high contact areas like door handles and grab rails. Non-exempt staff and visiting professionals were vaccinated against COVID-19 as required.

People were supported to pursue activities and visit friends and family while maintaining safety measures. Visitors were supported to follow testing and infection control procedures during their visits. Staff understood and implemented robust testing guidance to keep people safe whilst enabling them to continue meaningful engagement with their communities.
