Hillsborough Residential Home

Hillsborough Residential Home provides personal care and support for up to 16 older people, some of whom are living with dementia. The CQC rated the home Good overall, finding that previous breaches around safe care, recruitment and governance had been resolved following management improvements.

Inspectors found staff knew people well, staffing levels were sufficient and recruitment checks were properly completed. Medicines were mostly managed safely, though clearer recording was needed for topical and "when required" medicines. Some care plans needed updated risk information and capacity assessments, which the manager acted on promptly.

People and relatives spoke positively about kind staff and the new manager's steady improvements.
