Hillcroft Nursing Home Slyne

Hillcroft Slyne Nursing Home accommodates up to 48 people across three ground floor units near Lancaster, providing nursing care for those with general nursing needs, dementia and complex behaviours. At the time of inspection, 31 people lived there. The service ensures safe reception and ongoing support in line with national guidance, with dedicated staff supporting residents and relatives to understand COVID-19 policies, isolation processes and safety measures. Staff use social media and computer systems to facilitate contact between people and their families.

The home maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene with established cleaning schedules and PPE stations placed throughout individual rooms. Staff are trained in infection control with continuous guidance on COVID procedures, and regular testing is conducted for both residents and staff. All staff have been vaccinated as required. A resident commented, "No issues with visiting, they are nice people, they keep the building and my room very clean," while another noted, "We get tested the staff are very careful." Sufficient PPE stocks are maintained and used safely throughout the service.
