Heathwood Care Home

Heathwood Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 27 people living with dementia, with 24 residents in residence at the time of inspection. The home maintained exceptionally high standards of cleanliness throughout, with increased housekeeping and laundry hours implemented daily. The registered manager and senior staff conducted frequent walk-arounds to ensure hygiene standards were met and staff adhered to proper practices, including correct use of personal protective equipment.

The home operated strict infection control procedures with a single entrance for all staff and visitors. Staff entered one-by-one, underwent temperature checks, changed into clean clothes, and donned full PPE including individual face-shields that were sanitised after each shift. A fogging machine was used before staff could access the main areas of the home, demonstrating the provider's commitment to maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for residents.
