Headingley Park Care Home

Headingley Park Care Home is a purpose-built home in two units, providing personal care and support to up to 40 older people, some living with dementia. Following concerns about risks, the environment and infection control, the CQC carried out a comprehensive inspection and rated the home requires improvement overall, a decline from its previous good rating.

Inspectors found medicines were not always managed safely, some risk-management equipment was faulty, and infection control practices were not properly embedded. Care records did not consistently reflect people's needs, meaningful activities were lacking, and feedback from people and relatives was mixed. Staff felt supported, and safeguarding arrangements were in place, but breaches were identified around medicines, risk, person-centred care and governance.
