About Hawksbury House

Hawksbury House is a residential care home in Gateshead, providing personal care for older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Hawksbury House is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 35 older people, including those living with dementia. Inspectors found the service was performing well overall, having resolved previous concerns about governance and staff understanding of the Mental Capacity Act. Care was person-centred, staff knew people well, and management were visible and responsive, having recently overseen a full refurbishment.

People and relatives spoke warmly of kind, approachable staff and enjoyable food and activities. Some relatives raised concerns about laundry issues and occasional delays in personal care during busy periods, which the CQC noted the provider was already working to address.
