Haviland House

Haviland House provides personal and nursing care to people living with dementia and other health conditions. At the time of inspection, 35 people were living at the service, which can support up to 67 residents.

Inspectors identified concerns regarding risk assessment and management. Risks to people, including management of particular health conditions, had not always been fully assessed, and staff lacked clear guidance and information on how to support people safely. There were also gaps in the recording of topical cream applications in some medication records reviewed.

Staff did not consistently support people to have maximum choice and control of their lives, nor did they always support them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.
