Hamilton House

Hamilton House accommodates up to 36 people requiring residential care, including those living with dementia. The three-storey property had 31 residents at inspection. Medicines were managed safely with people receiving prescribed medications as required. Staff regularly assessed risks associated with residents' care and wellbeing, taking appropriate action to keep people safe. The home supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff working in the least restrictive way possible and in residents' best interests.

The service was well-led by a committed registered manager focused on improving quality of life. The provider had made improvements to safe recruitment and risk management practices. Effective quality assurance processes were in place to drive improvements in care. Staff worked well as a team within a clear management and staffing structure, with positive feedback received about the management of the service.
