Halcyon Days

Halcyon Days is a care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 57 people, including those living with dementia. Currently 50 people live there. The CQC rated the service good overall, with well-led improving from requires improvement since the last inspection.

People and relatives spoke positively about the registered manager and staff, feeling safe and well cared for.

Inspectors found some areas needing attention, including pressure care oversight, medicine record-keeping around patches, and infection control practices such as handwashing, with improvements made after feedback. Some people and relatives felt staff were stretched, leading to occasional missed tasks like hair brushing or changing bedding. Overall, people were supported in line with their wishes and had good relationships with staff.
