Garmsway

Heathcoates Garmsway provides accommodation for up to six people with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs. At the time of inspection, all six places were occupied. The home demonstrated strong infection prevention and control practices, with visitors screened for symptoms and supported to wear PPE before entering. Staff received appropriate training in infection control procedures and used PPE effectively. Regular COVID-19 testing was provided for all staff and residents, and the service maintained robust cleaning protocols with frequent disinfection of touched surfaces recorded regularly.

The home had contingency plans in place should symptoms develop, with isolation facilities available to support residents who needed to remain in their rooms during an outbreak. An up-to-date infection prevention and control policy was in place to guide staff responses to any COVID-19 related issues that might arise.
