The Laurels Care Home

The Laurels accommodates up to 51 older people and people with physical disabilities across two separate units, providing both nursing and personal care. At inspection, 32 people were using the service. The home was clean, well ventilated, and maintained a homely atmosphere. Staff wore personal protective equipment appropriately and maintained social distancing to minimize infection risk, with hand sanitizing facilities positioned throughout. An activities coordinator organized group activities and one-to-one support in residents' rooms, while also facilitating phone and video calls with family and friends. The home designated specific areas for people who needed alternatives to prolonged room isolation.
