Gardens Neurological Centre

Gardens Neurological Centre provides accommodation and nursing care to up to 52 people with complex neurological conditions, brain or spinal injuries. At inspection, 44 people were using the service. Inspectors identified concerns with medicine administration, finding that people did not always receive their medicines safely or as prescribed, and staff were not consistently following prescribers' instructions. Staff felt they had the skills and experience to support people, though not all had received necessary training. While nursing needs were assessed and care delivered to current standards, care plans required further development to address people's social and wellbeing needs. The premises varied in quality, with some bedrooms personalised and decorated for individuals while others were not, though management stated they offered personalisation options. The provider assessed risks to keep people safe, with staff taking action to mitigate identified risks.
