About Forest Edge

Forest Edge is a residential care home in Hampshire, set in surroundings that offer a calm and comfortable setting for older people to call home. The team here understands how much it means to find a place where your loved one will be genuinely looked after, and they work to create an environment that feels warm and familiar. For families beginning this journey, Forest Edge aims to be a place where residents are treated with kindness and respect every day.

Forest Edge provides accommodation and personal care for up to 32 older people, many living with dementia, sensory loss, physical disabilities, or mental health conditions. At inspection, 21 people were using the service.

Relatives reported that their loved ones felt safe. However, inspectors found gaps in how risks were being managed. When people experienced unwitnessed falls, post-fall observations were not consistently completed.

Incident records showed investigations were not always thorough enough to ensure people's safety. The home needs stronger governance systems in place to monitor and improve the quality of care provided.
