Florence House

Florence House provides personal care for up to 36 residents, some living with dementia, sensory impairments, or mental ill health, accommodating them across two floors of a single adapted building. At inspection, 29 people were resident at the service. While some care records required updating to ensure accuracy, other monitoring systems were in place and audits completed regularly. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities, felt valued by management, and described the home as a good place to work.

Risk management had improved since the last inspection, with people now having current risk assessments in place. Staff demonstrated understanding of how to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns, helping keep people safe. The service maintained adequate staffing levels with ongoing recruitment efforts, and medicines were managed safely. However, care plan audits needed to be completed more frequently to maintain oversight of the quality of assessments.
