Elm Park Care Home

Elm Park Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 100 older people, including those living with dementia, with 92 people using the service at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated the home Good overall, an improvement on the previous rating, which had flagged Well-Led as requiring improvement. Concerns about the management of risks such as falls and choking had prompted the assessment, but inspectors found no evidence people were at risk of harm.

People and relatives said they felt safe, well cared for and supported by an approachable management team. Medicines were managed properly, staffing levels were sufficient, and mental capacity assessments followed legal requirements. Inspectors found effective governance systems and a positive, open culture throughout the home.
