Elizabeth House

Elizabeth House provides personal care to 107 older people, many living with dementia, across two units called Poppy and Bluebell. Staffing levels were insufficient to properly support residents, and some care plans lacked important risk information or clear guidance for staff. Medicines management required improvement, as as-needed medications were not always given correctly, though trained staff generally supported residents to take regular medicines. The home maintained effective infection prevention and control measures and shared learning from incidents.

The service supported residents to have maximum choice and control over their lives, using the least restrictive approaches in line with their best interests. The registered manager had processes in place to monitor quality and was described by both people and staff as approachable and supportive. Feedback was regularly gathered through meetings and surveys to inform improvements.
