Elizabeth Court is a residential care home in St. Helens providing personal and nursing care, including for people living with dementia. The CQC rated the service inadequate overall and has placed it in special measures.

Inspectors found unsafe management of medicines, inaccurate care plans and risk assessments, poor adherence to the Mental Capacity Act, and gaps in staff training, along with weak governance to catch these problems.

Inspectors also found little meaningful interaction between staff and residents, with people left without stimulation, and relatives said they had not been involved in care planning. Despite this, people and families spoke positively about staff kindness and said they felt able to raise concerns with the approachable manager.
