Colliers House

Colliers House is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 12 people with complex physical needs, learning disabilities and autism. At the time of inspection, 11 people were living at the home. Staff supported residents to stay active and occupied through exercise sessions in the garden with music, and arranged a virtual choir event where residents and staff from multiple homes practised and performed together via video call, with families invited to attend. One resident was supported to create a COVID-19 information board sharing knowledge about social distancing and hand hygiene through pictures and drawings, and this resident went on to help educate housemates about the importance of giving each other space. The home implemented practical measures including one-way entry and exit systems in each building to minimise congestion, and established Personal Protective Equipment stations in entrance halls stocked with hand sanitiser, thermometers, masks, gloves and aprons.
