Hawthorne House

Hawthorne House is a residential care home providing accommodation, nursing and personal care to people with dementia, physical disabilities, mental health needs and rehabilitation needs following acquired brain injuries. The CQC found some improvements since the previous inspection, including better staffing levels, organised healthcare records and shared learning between staff. However, inspectors identified continued breaches of regulations around safe care and treatment, and good governance.

People generally felt safe and comfortable with staff, and healthcare support was in place, but some felt isolated when staff were rushed, and raised concerns were not always acted upon. Risk management, medicines management and quality monitoring still needed improvement. The home remains rated Requires Improvement overall.
