Cherry Lodge

Cherry Lodge provides accommodation and personal care to up to 27 older people, including those living with dementia. The home is spread across three floors with a lift, communal lounges and dining areas. At inspection, 24 people were using the service.

However, significant concerns were identified. Actions to identify and report allegations of abuse were insufficient, with incidents indicating abuse not reported to the local authority safeguarding team. Reportable incidents had not been referred appropriately for external scrutiny. Risks to people were not robustly assessed or mitigated, leaving staff without essential information needed to provide safe care. This included risks relating to falls, diabetes, behaviours of distress, and choking. Infection control practices also required improvement in some areas of the service.
