About Charnwood House

Charnwood House is a residential care home in Nottinghamshire supporting younger adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and physical disabilities. The CQC rated the service outstanding overall, finding exceptional, highly personalised care that balanced safety with independence and aspiration. Staff understood people's communication needs and backgrounds in depth, and restrictions were regularly reviewed to give people more freedom as they progressed.

Inspectors found medicines were managed safely and staff were recruited and trained appropriately. Relatives and professionals praised the home strongly, describing significant improvements in confidence, communication and wellbeing, and a culture that consistently sought to help people thrive rather than simply meet basic needs.
