Cascade (Hurst House)

Hurst House, in Norwich, Norfolk, is a residential home registered for up to 8 adults with learning disabilities and autism. The CQC rated the service Outstanding, finding that care was built intentionally around residents' communication needs rather than adapted from a standard model. A small, consistent staff team helped people become more settled and confident, with incidents and restrictive interventions reducing over time.

Inspectors found strong safeguarding awareness, close family involvement, and an integrated approach combining care and education that supported people's independence and wellbeing. The environment was designed to suit residents' needs, and staff were well trained and motivated. Families felt informed, consulted and confident their relatives were safe.
