Carricks Brook

Carricks Brook provides accommodation and care for up to 12 adults with autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. At the time of inspection, 11 people were living at the service. People and relatives told inspectors the service was safe. Staff understood how to report and respond to safeguarding concerns, and people were encouraged to think about and express what made them feel safe.

The service assessed, recorded and reviewed incidents and risks to people's wellbeing and independence, with lessons acted upon. When people experienced behaviours that could put them or others at risk, staff involved them in how they were supported. Communication tools helped people understand and communicate their feelings before, during and after any behaviour support, including any restraint used to reduce risk to their or another's wellbeing.
