About Parkgate Manor

Parkgate Manor is a residential care home in East Sussex, providing support for autistic people and people with a learning disability. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Parkgate Manor is a residential care home supporting up to 40 autistic people and people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, 24 people were living there. The CQC found staff to be kind and caring, with people treated with dignity and good access to health professionals, though not all activities were suited to individual needs and feedback from people and relatives was not consistently sought.

Inspectors found ongoing governance failings, with the provider in breach of regulations relating to quality assurance, medicines management, infection control and safety checks. There had been no registered manager for 14 months, and leadership turnover had weakened oversight. Improvements made previously had not been sustained, and the CQC has told the provider it must improve.
