Bywell House Care Home

Bywell House Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 20 older people living with dementia. The CQC found the home was performing well, with people and relatives describing safe, compassionate care and a calm, welcoming environment. Staffing was consistent, medicines were managed safely, and infection control practices were robust.

Inspectors found care was person-centred, with varied activities and good support for independence and choice. Leadership was visible and improving under a newly appointed manager, though formal mental capacity assessments and nutritional screening records needed better embedding. The provider was already addressing these gaps.
